Lamy, New Mexico 2,700 square feet 2000 AIA Santa Fe Citation Award - 2002 Citation Award AIA / Su Casa Magazine - 2004 Merit Award The house has two barrel vaults of equal radius that are covered in a dull bonderized metal with flat seams to blend into the landscape. The contrast of adjacent stucco and metal emphasize the distinct geometry. The owner is a music producer with acute acoustical sensitivity. The ceilings of the vaults are covered in clear hemlock with gaps exposing acoustic insulation for sound absorption. The walls are 14” insulated concrete forms constructed of recycled styrofoam and cement. |
