Ben Moore Studio, LLC, is an architecture firm that practices in the flint hills.  Our studio work culture is one of collaboration, mentorship, flexibility and having fun while providing exemplary design and client service. Ben Moore Studio is an architecture and planning company whose work focuses on downtown projects, historic preservation, commercial development and animal care projects.  Work does require some travel and field work.  (existing building documentation, construction review).  

Benefit package includes: health care (BCBS KS).  Retirement package with company contributions after 12 months of work.  Flexible work schedule with 12 days of paid time off per year.  We allow extra time off as needed and would consider part-time employment for right fit.  You can choose to work remotely with company provided laptop.  Salary position based on experience and computer competency.

Responsibilities

• Control project from start to finish to ensure high quality, innovative and functional design
• Take the “brief” to identify clients’ needs and put together feasibility reports and design proposals
• Develop ideas keeping in mind client’s needs, building’s usage and environmental impact
• Produce detailed drawings and specifications and make any necessary corrections
• Work in some design - build projects
• Keep within budgets and timelines
• Ensure that all works are carried out to specific standards, building codes, guidelines and regulations
• Make on site visits to check on project status and report on project
• Cooperate and liaise with construction professionals
• Understand historic design standards and the national park service requirements

Skills:

• Experience with Vectorworks drafting software (Can train if experience is only with Revit or Autocad)
• Some 3d modeling experience
• Working knowledge of MS Office Suite, Adobe Creative Suite and the desire to learn Vectorworks & Bluebeam.
• Desire to work on design projects in downtowns and existing buildings
• Construction background a plus
• Strong design/creative problem solving skills• Collaborative team player with desire to be a Leader
