4th & Elm BarWamego, Kansas
Interior Remodel in Downtown Historic District 2016 Contractor - Riley Construction Photographer - Harold Gaston The 4th & Elm Bar and Grill utilized an existing restaurant building at the edge of downtown Wamego. To fit the needs of the new bar and grill, mechanical systems were re-configured to accommodate a cooktop and hood at a new location in the kitchen. Back-of-house and food preparation spaces were expanded while still maintaining a good balance between these areas and floor area devoted to patron seating. A walk-in cooler and freezer for food were also added to the building along with ADA restrooms. A second walk-in cooler is provided behind the new bar, providing ease of access between the serving area and cool beverages. Being located in a downtown building, our project team had to coordinate zoning and parking requirements with the City. This project brought a much needed amenity to downtown Wamego and the restaurant is regularly at capacity. |
